Biographical Information[edit]

Rick Teasley pitched in the USA, Australia, Mexico and Taiwan.

Teasley was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 23rd round of the 2013 Amateur Draft, and he was 3-4 with two saves and a 2.77 ERA for the Hudson Valley Renegades in 2013. He left the Rays system after the 2013 season, and he was 11-5 with a 3.57 ERA for the independent Southern Illinois Miners in 2014. He led the Frontier League in wins by one. Teasley also pitched for the Brisbane Bandits in the 2014-2015 ABL, and he was 7-4 with a 3.01 ERA. He was one win behind co-leaders Steven Chambers and Jason Jarvis and 6th in K. He went 9-4 with a 2.78 ERA for the Miners in 2015 (tying for 6th in wins), but he struggled in Australia as he only had a 3-3 record with a 5.12 ERA for the 2015-2016 Bandits. He did come up big in the finals, winning Game 1 over the Melbourne Aces as Brisbane took the title.

In 2016, Teasley was 8-5 with a 4.80 ERA for the Miners, then he went 7-2 with a 2.85 ERA for the Somerset Patriots the next summer. The CTBC Brothers of the CPBL then signed him, but Teasley’s ERA was 6.13 with a 0-3 record for them. He allowed 2 runs in 1 1/3 innings in the 2017 Taiwan Series, and the Lamigo Monkeys beat the Brothers in 5 games. Teasley went 4-5 with a 3.60 ERA for the Patriots in 2018, and he was 0-2 with a 7.63 ERA for the Pericos de Puebla in 2019. He returned to Patriots in July, and he went 6-3 with a 4.20 ERA. After having a 3.63 ERA in 5 games in Brisbane in that winter, Teasley announced his retirement.

He had gone 61-49 as a pro.
