Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Rick Rembielak was drafted in the 13th round of the 1981 amateur draft by the Baltimore Orioles. He spent five seasons in the minor league organizations of the Orioles and Chicago Cubs.

Rembielak was an assistant coach at Kent State University in 1988-1993. He was then head coach at Kent State from 1994 to 2004 and Wake Forest University from 2005 to 2009. After spending the 2011 season as an assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology, he was named head coach at the University of Akron for 2012, a role he held until the school cut baseball following the 2015 campaign. He then became a high school assistant athletic director and baseball coach.

Rembielak's son, Matt, played for Rick at Akron from 2012-2015. Matt has been an assistant coach in college since 2016, with stops at Oberlin College, Eastern Michigan University, Michigan State University, and Bowling Green State University.
