Outfielder Rick Parker was signed as a 17th round pick in the 1985 amateur draft by the Philadelphia Phillies and scouts Doug Gassaway and Rudy Terrasas.
Parker's father, Robert Parker, played minor league baseball in the Brooklyn Dodgers' organization.
