Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Rex Johnston played 14 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates at the start of the 1964 season, never getting a hit in 7 at-bats, although he walked three times and scored a run.
A graduate of the University of Southern California where he also played football, he played one season for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League in 1960. He was a halfback but was mostly used as a kick returner.
Rex also had eight years in the minors, most of which was spent at the AAA level.
