Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Reginald Preciado was signed by the San Diego Padres in July 2019, but did not play in 2020 due to the minor league season being cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In December 2020, before playing a game professionally, he was traded with fellow minor leaguers Owen Caissie, Ismael Mena and Yeison Santana to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for pitchers Yu Darvish and Zach Davies, as well as catcher Victor Caratini. He hit .333/.383/.511 with 3 home runs, 25 RBI and 7 stolen bases in 141 at-bats for the ACL Cubs in 2021, then .201 /.268/.302 in 56 games between two clubs in 2022, despite being named the #79 prospect going into 2022 by Baseball Prospectus. In 34 games between two teams in 2023, he hit .149/.207/.198.
