Biographical Information

Outfielder Reggie Walton played 56 games in the majors. Most of his at-bats were with the Seattle Mariners in 1980.

Walton was a second-round draft pick in the January 1972 amateur draft by the San Francisco Giants out of Compton Junior College and hit .322 that summer in the Pioneer League. He also hit .312 in 1974 with the Fresno Giants and .310 in 1975 with the Lafayette Drillers.

Walton played in Mexico with the Sultanes de Monterrey in 1977 and with the Mineros de Coahuila in 1978.

Beginning in 1979, Reggie played in the Seattle organization, hitting .322 for the Spokane Indians. On June 29th, he hit for the cycle, a feat which was not repeated by a Spokane Indian until May 10, 2023, by Yanquiel Fernandez. He followed up in 1980 with a .303 average in 91 games, which earned his first call-up to the majors that June.

After getting some at-bats at the major league level in both 1980 and 1981, he was purchased by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1982. He hit .302 with 14 homers in 95 games with the Portland Beavers in 1982, and came up to the Pirates for 13 games that season.

In 1983 he hit .299 with 12 home runs for the Hawaii Islanders.

As of 2008 he lived in Los Angeles, CA and was part of the coaching staff for West Los Angeles College.
