Biographical Information[edit]
Reggie Grabowski was one of major league baseball's earliest Reggies. There have been nearly 20 Reggies (through 2009), and Grabowski was # 2 after Reggie Richter.
Grabowski pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1932 to 1934. His best year was 1933 when he had an ERA of 2.44. In an unfortunate game on August 4, 1934, Reggie gave up 11 hits in the ninth inning to the New York Giants.
Reggie, who was born and died in Syracuse, NY, pitched for Syracuse in 1935, 1938-1939 and 1943-1945. In 1933 with Wilkes-Barre and Reading, he went 17-5.
His brother Al Grabowski also pitched in the major leagues.
