Biographical Information[edit]
Red Ryan began umpiring professionally in the North Carolina State League in 1938, the was in the Florida State League 1939-1941; the Piedmont League (1942); the Carolina League (1945); the Eastern League (1945-1947); the International League (1947-1952); the Provincial League (1953) and the International League again (1954-1957).
On September 28, 1946, he umpired one National League game at the Polo Grounds in New York, NY. He worked at first base with George Magerkurth behind the plate.
