Biographical Information[edit]
Red Boucher was the founder of the Alaska Goldpanners and was instrumental in the formation of the Alaska Baseball League. As one of the most important figures in the history of baseball in Alaska, Boucher was inducted into the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame. He was the Goldpanners' manager for ten seasons and posted a 337-118 record.
Besides his career in baseball, Boucher was also a 20-year veteran of the US Navy, a former mayor of Fairbanks, a three-term state representative, and the former lieutenant governor of his state.
