From BR Bullpen

Fairbanks is Alaska's second largest city, located in the center of the state on the Tanana River. It is some 350 miles north of Anchorage, AK. While winters in Fairbanks are brutally cold, baseball is played here in the summers and Fairbanks is famous for its annual "Midnight Sun Game" played every year on June 21st; the game starts at 10:00 pm and is played without artificial lights, the first staging of the game dating back to 1906.

Red Boucher was mayor here and died in Fairbanks. The Alaska Goldpanners are based here.
