Biographical Information[edit]
Raywilly Gomez was a minor league catcher & third baseman from 2008-2016. He initially played in the Arizona Diamondbacks minor league system and reached AA for the first time in 2013. He started 2014 with the D'backs, but moved to the Philadelphia Phillies chain in July to finish out the year. He completed his playing career with one year stints with the Los Angeles Angels (2015) and New York Mets (2016). Gomez spent his final three years entirely at the AA level. For his career, Gomez hit .282/.366/.360 while playing in 638 games.
After a year away from professional baseball, Gomez returned to the Angels and worked as a hitting coach for the DSL Angels from 2018-2022. Gomez moved staeside as a hitting coach for the ACL Angels in 2023 and Inland Empire 66ers in 2024.
Gomez also has some winter league coaching experience. He was a coach for the Tigres del Licey in the 2021/2022 Dominican League season. He returned to Licey in 2022/2023 as the team's first base coach.
