Biographical Information[edit]
Ray Tift played four games for the 1907 New York Highlanders.
Tift had been at Brown University in 1903-07 and had pitched in the Empire State League in 1906. He played for Montreal in 1908.
The SABR biography of Larry Gardner states that Tift and Gardner were teammates in the Northern League in the summer of 1906, along with Doc Hazelton, Bob Higgins and Harry Pattee.
