Biographical Information[edit]

Ray Carter served as President of Baseball Canada from 2000 to 2016, making him the longest-serving president in the federation's history. During his tenure, Team Canada, the national men's team, won its first two major competitions, at the 2011 Pan American Games and at the 2015 Pan American Games. They thus moved into second place all-time in baseball Golds at the Pan American Games, behind only Cuba The Canadian women's national team, which he helped create in 2004, also enjoyed considerable success during that time, winning five international medals.

Carter was vice-president of Baseball Canada in 1998 and 1999 before taking over the top job and had served as president of Baseball British Columbia in his home province before that. The national 15 and under championship trophy was renamed the "Ray Carter Cup" in his honor.

He was elected to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2017.
