Biographical Information[edit]

Rashad Crawford began his professional career in 2012. He was taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 11th round of the 2012 amateur draft and was signed by Keith Lockhart.

He slashed .167/.324/.167 with four stolen bases in nine games for the AZL Cubs his first year, and followed that with a .210/.299/.275 line with 10 steals in 42 games for the same club in 2013. In 2014, he batted .259/.297/.360 with 14 steals and seven triples in 71 games for the Boise Hawks to make the Northwest League Mid-Season All-Star team and in 2015, he hit .280/.322/.382 with 20 steals in 107 games for the South Bend Cubs. He began 2016 with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans where in 83 games, he hit .255 with 3 homers and 30 RBIs. he laso scored 59 runs and stole 22 bases, setting personal bests in both categories before the end of July.

On July 25, 2016, Rashad was one of four prospects trade by the Cubs to the New York Yankees in return for reliever Aroldis Chapman; the others were Of Billy McKinney, IF Gleyber Torres and P Adam Warren.
