Biographical Information[edit]
Rafael Luis López was a top amateur manager in the Dominican Republic, winning five national titles and guided the Dominican national team many times.
He played as an amateur for Elmhurst, Artes y Oficios, Pepsi Cola, Cami, Línea Germania en Santiago and Enseñanza Militar y en la Policía. He managed the Dominican Republic in the 1970 Amateur World Series, coached for them in the 1969 Amateur World Series (Bronze Medal) and 1970 Central American and Caribbean Games (a Silver Medal) and managed in the 1971 Pan American Games, 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games (Silver), 1975 Pan American Games, 1978 Central American and Caribbean Games, 1979 Pan American Games (Silver), 1990 Central American and Caribbean Games (Bronze), 1991 Pan American Games and 1994 Baseball World Cup. He also coached softball.
