Rafaël Jozefa has played for the Dutch Antilles national team, as did his father Rafael Jozefa Sr.. In 2006, he tried out with the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers but failed to get a contract with a MLB club. In the 2008 Haarlem Baseball Week, he went 3 for 10 with two walks and 3 RBI. During the 2008 Curacao season, Jozefa hit .276/.368/.326 for the Santa Rosa Indians. In the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, Rafael was the Antilles first baseman, but he was only 2 for 19 with 3 walks, a double, 3 runs and a RBI. His team still qualified for a spot in the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
Jozefa signed with Kinheim for 2009. In the Matino phase of the 2009 European Cup, Rafaël struck out in both of his at-bats. In the Cup's Final Four, Jozefa was 2 for 6 with a double, triple and 3 RBI. He debuted in Hoofdklasse on April 12, going 0 for 2 with a walk and a run.
