Biographical Information

Second baseman Clyde McDowell played minor league baseball from 1935 to 1947, missing the 1943-1945 seasons. He spent 1937 to 1941 in the Texas League and 1942 in the American Association. After the war he was sent to class B baseball, never having reached the majors. McDowell posted decent averages in the TL (.264-.293) but only hit 7 homers in his career, just two in the higher minors.

McDowell scouted for the Dallas Eagles in 1953 before switching jobs with Jimmy Adair. From 1958-1961, he was head coach at Texas Christian University.
