Princeton Patriots

From BR Bullpen

In 1990 the Pittsburgh Pirates pulled out of Princeton, WV and the club there changed its name from the Princeton Pirates to Princeton Patriots. A co-op team that year, the Patriots got 18 players and manager Eli Grba from the Philadelphia Phillies system. Princeton finished seventh in the Appalachian League, ahead of the Phillies farm team, with a 31-36 record. They drew 26,620 fans (6th of 10 teams). Brad Hassinger (7-4, 2.18) was third in the Appy in ERA and made the All-Star team. In 1991 they would become a Cincinnati Reds affiliate and be renamed the Princeton Reds.
