Biographical Information[edit]

Brad Hassinger was a minor league pitcher from 1990 to 1994.

Hassinger began his professional career with the Princeton Patriots in 1990, going 7-4 with a 2.18 ERA in 13 starts. That year, he completed five games and allowed only 66 hits in 91 innings. In 1991, Hassinger played for the Spartanburg Phillies, going 8-8 with a 3.20 ERA and four complete games in 21 starts. He spent time with Spartanburg and with the Clearwater Phillies in 1992, being used mostly as a reliever with the former and as a starter with the latter. With Spartanburg, he went 4-1 with a 1.35 ERA in 20 games (two starts) and with Clearwater, he went 6-1 with a 2.54 ERA in 12 games (10 starts). Overall, Hassinger went 10-2 with a 2.08 ERA in 32 games (12 starts) in 1992. In 1993, Hassinger played for three teams - the Durham Bulls, the Greenville Braves and the Reading Phillies, going a combined 7-2 with a 2.11 ERA in 27 relief appearances. He played for Greenville again in 1994, going 3-8 with a 3.48 ERA in 42 games (two starts).

Overall, Hassinger went 35-24 with a 2.65 ERA in 135 games (48 starts) in his five-year career. Despite posting such solid numbers, he never played higher than Double-A.
