Biographical Information[edit]

Po-Chao Yang played in the CPBL for 2 years.

Yang was drafted by the Macoto Cobras in the 5th round of the 2004 CPBL Draft, but he refused to sign. The Uni-President Lions then signed him in 2006, and he hit .339/.420/.500 while leading the CPBL minors in batting, OBP and doubles. Yang went 2-for-8 in 2007 with the big club, and he was brought into the 2007 Taiwan Series. He went 1-for-1 in Game 4, and he crushed a pinch-hit 3-run shot against Chun-Chung Huang in the 4th inning in Game 5. That was the first pinch-hit homer in Taiwan Series history. Yang went 0-for-1 in Game 6, and he won his only title as the Lions beat the La New Bears in 7 games. He played 21 games with a .267/.267/.567 batting line in 2008, and his professional career ended as the Lions released him.

Overall, Yang hit .263/.300/.526 with 10 hits in 2 seasons in the CPBL.
