Biographical Information[edit]
Phil Mudrock pitched in one game in his major league career. It was on April 19, 1963 for the Chicago Cubs against the San Francisco Giants. He pitched the bottom of the 8th, relieving Bob Will; the Cubs were down 4-0. Jim Davenport doubled, Willie Mays grounded out, Davenport advancing to third. Willie McCovey singled in Davenport. Mudrock balked and McCovey advanced to second base. He then got Orlando Cepeda and Felipe Alou to both ground out to end the inning. Juan Marichal got the win in the game.
He also had ten seasons in the minors, of which three (1962-64) were with the Salt Lake City Bees. He was in the New York Yankees organization during 1956-60, the Cubs organization in 1961 and 1963-65, and the Cleveland Indians organization in 1962.
