Biographical Information[edit]

Peter Tago was a first-rounder in 2010.

Tago played for the US Youth National Team in 2007. With a fastball in the 90s in high school, he was picked by the Colorado Rockies 47th overall in the 2010 amateur draft. The choice was compensation for the loss of Jason Marquis to free agency. Peter was Colorado's second draftee that year, following Kyle Parker.

Tago was signed by scout Jon Lukens for a reported $982,500 hours before the August 16 deadline and debuted in 2011 with the Asheville Tourists, on May 20 versus the Lexington Legends. Tago allowed four hits and two runs in seven innings that game for a win. After six games, though, he was 2-1 with a 5.97 ERA and 21 walks to 14 whiffs in 28 2/3 innings.
