Biographical Information[edit]
Peter Bendix became General Manager of the Tampa Bay Rays on December 16, 2021, when he succeeded Erik Neander.
He took a sabermetrics course while at Tufts University and after his graduation in 2008 was able as a result to find a position as an intern with the Rays in 2009, as they were impressed with his research. He returned for another internship in 2010 and was eventually offered a permanent job and in 2019 was named Vice-President of Baseball Development. He succeeded Neander when he was promoted to President of Baseball Operations. He was also given the title of Senior Vide-President of Baseball Operations.
On November 6, 2023, he moved across the state to join the Miami Marlins as President of Baseball Operations, a position that had been vacant since the departure of Michael Hill in 2020. In effect, he replaced General Manager Kim Ng, who chose not to exercise a mutual contract option for 2024 due to differences with the ownership group.
He is originally from Cleveland, OH.
