Biographical Information[edit]

Some of the information regarding Pat Robles conflicts with other information, so what follows is what seems most accurate.

Robles attended Cedar Valley College for two years and then transferred to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for one season. In 2015 the Minnesota Twins signed him as an undrafted free agent with an invitation to spring training. It appears he did not play for them, perhaps due to an injury. In 2016 Robles played for the independent Trinidad Triggers of the Pecos League. He might also have spent time with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League. The official record only shows him pitching one game for Trinidad, however.

Following his playing career, he turned to coaching. Robles was an assistant coach in 2016-2017 for the Minnesota West Community & Technical College Bluejays. From there he moved to Cerro Coso Community College for one season as their pitching coach. In the fall of 2018, Robles joined McCook Community College as an assistant coach and he stayed there through 2019. He also spent some time coaching summer collegiate teams. He started 2018 as the pitching coach for the Quincy Gems of the Prospect League, but was named interim manager in mid-July when the manager left. He returned to Quincy in 2019 as manager.

In addition to college coaching, Robles worked with the Oakland Athletics player development office in 2014-2015. Robles is very interested in utilizing Driveline Baseball techniques in his coaching, so his work with the A's might have been related to that. Sources also indicate that Robles was working with the Athletics as an associate scout in 2018.

The Philadelphia Phillies in 2020 hired Robles for the GCL Phillies East pitching coach position before the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19. He was then a pitching coach for the FCL Phillies in 2021. In his final year with the Phillies organization in 2022 Robles worked as a pitching strategist.

Robles joined the Houston Astros player development system in 2023 as a rehabilitation pitching coach with the FCL Astros.
