Biographical Information[edit]

OF/1B Pat O'Sullivan was drafted by the New York Mets in the 34th round of the 1999 amateur draft by the New York Mets, out of Austin Peay State University.

He played in the minor leagues from 1999 to 2010, with the majority of this span coming in the independent leagues and in the Mexican League. He was only with the Mets in the Appalachian League in 1999 and for one game in 2000 before spending two years in the Texas-Louisiana League and another with the Broncos de Reynosa in the Mexican League in 2002. He also played in the affiliated majors, with the St. Lucie Mets and in 2003 was with three farm teams of the Baltimore Orioles. After that, he alternated between the indy leagues and la Liga for the remainder of his career. He had some good years, including batting .353 with 16 homers for the Tuneros de San Luis in 2006 and .309 with 14 homers for the Schaumburg Flyers in 2007. He was still productive in his final season, with the Rockford RiverHawks of the Northern League in 2010, as he hit .287 with 13 homers in 74 games.

He then moved into coaching while further pursuing his education. He was a coach for the Rockford RiverHawks/Rockford Aviators from 2011 to 2013, and then with the Southern Illinois Miners in 2015. In 2017, he joined the San Diego Padres, serving as a hitting coach with the Tri-City Dust Devils (2018-2019), Lake Elsinore Storm (2021-2022) and San Antonio Missions (2023). In 2024, he was named assistant hitting coach with the major league team.
