Biographical Information

Infielder Paddy Matera has played professionally since 2010 (through 2014).

He began his career in independent baseball, playing for the Newark Bears of the Atlantic League and the Coastal Bend Thunder of the United League in 2010. In 2011, he returned to Newark, which had moved to the Canadian-American League. He played for the Atlantic League's Camden Riversharks in 2012 and began 2013 with them before being signed by the Cleveland Indians on June 3. Though he posted a solid .282/.415/.419 line in 73 games for the Indians High-A team, the Carolina Mudcats, he was released before the start of the 2014 campaign. He returned to Camden for 2014.
