Our Team, by Luke Epplin, recounts the championship run of the 1948 Indians. It focuses the story through the lens of four individuals: Larry Doby, Bob Feller, Satchel Paige and Bill Veeck. Much of the book covers the lives of those four pivotal individuals prior to the 1948 season. Well-researched, it lends itself to hyperbole, but the lives of Feller, Paige and Veeck are all so intertwined with hyperbole that it's an easy pitfall. The book discusses both the positives and the negatives, like the Indians' use of sign-stealing to win their pennant.
