Minor leaguer Oscar Tejeda began played professionally career from 2007 to 2015. He was signed by scout Luis Scheker.
He was signed as an International Free Agent by the Boston Red Sox in 2006. He split the 2007 season between the Gulf Coast League Red Sox and the Lowell Spinners. In January 2008, Baseball America named Tejeda the #9 prospect in the Red Sox system. He played for the Greenville Drive in 2008 and 2009. In 2010, while playing for the Salem Red Sox, he was named a Carolina League Mid-Season All Star and Post Season All Star, and was named the Carolina League's All Star Game Top Star. On April 26, 2010, Tejeda was named the Carolina League Player of the Week. In November 2010, the Red Sox added Tejeda to the 40-man roster to protect him the 2010 Rule 5 Draft. In 2011, he played for the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs. He returned to Portland in 2012, before being designated for assignment on June 24, 2012, to make room for Brent Lillibridge. Tejeda was claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 27, 2012. Tejeda signed with the Washington Nationals after the 2013 season. In 2015, he played in the Boston Red Sox system.
