Biographical Information[edit]
Orlando García was a top Colombian pitcher of the 1970s, as was his brother Nelson García.
He debuted in Colombia's top circuit in 1965 and played there until an arm injury ended his carer in '75. He appeared for the Colombian national team in the 1970 Amateur World Series, 1971 Amateur World Series, 1971 Pan American Games (winning a Bronze for their only baseball medal in a Pan American Games through 2018) and 1973 Bolivarian Games (when they won Gold for the second time, having done so in 1947; the next would be 2017). Throughout his career and for some time thereafter, he battled drug issues, including marijuana.
