Orlando Figueredo Sánchez

Orlando Figueredo pitched for 15 seasons in Cuba.

Figueredo threw a no-hitter against the Azucareros on January 25, 1968. He led the 1968-1969 Serie Nacional with 19 hit batsmen while with Oriente. Orlando won 14 games for the Mineros to pace the 1971-1972 Serie Nacional. He went 3-0 with a 0.86 ERA for the Cuban national team that won Gold at the 1972 Amateur World Series.

Figueredo was back with Oriente in 1972-1973 and led the league in innings (199 2/3), starts (23, tied with Jesús Guerra), complete games (17, tied with Braudilio Vinent) and walks (71, tied with Alfredo García and Julio Romero). In 1973-1974, he tied Romero for the most walks (69) and gave up the most hits (166) while tying Óscar Romero for the most starts (25).

Overall, Figueredo had a career record of 125-107 with 30 shutouts and 13 saves in 345 games (246 starts, 125 complete games). He struck out 1,114 and walked 671 in 1,937 1/3 innings while allowing a .230 average. He hit .226 with 7 homers in 491 AB. As of 2010, he did not rank among Cuba's top 10 in any department.
