Orizaba is located in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz, in the Sierra Madre Oriental mountains, 70 miles west of Veracruz, Veracruz. Mount Orizaba, the highest summit in Mexico, is nearby. Jorge de la Serna and Jaime Pérez Avella were born here.
