Biographical Information[edit]

Oleksii Boiko has been on the Ukrainian national team. It is unclear if he is related to any of the other Boikos/Boykos (the name is transliterated different ways) who have played or coached for Ukraine - Roman Boiko, Yurii Boiko, Oleh Boyko, Andrii Boiko and Kostiantyn Boiko.

Oleksii hit .385/.385/.538 with three runs in five games in the 2012 U-15 Baseball World Cup, playing 1B and LF. [1] He was 0 for 5 in the 2016 European Championship U21. [2] In the 2021 European Championship Qualifier, he was the main DH For Ukraine, going 1 for 7 with two runs and a RBI. [3] Ukraine won a spot in the 2021 European Championship. In his first European Championship plate appearance, he flew out against Spain's Carlos Sierra. His first hit came off Croatia's Andrew Jones. He finished 5 for 13 with three runs, two RBI and two walks, fielding .944; he was Ukraine's main first baseman. [4]
