Biographical Information[edit]

Illinois native Norm Schlueter spent fourteen active seasons in professional baseball from 1935 to 1948.

Norm was a catcher for thirteen seasons in the minor leagues with eleven different teams. He spent one season in class B and the remaining were all in class A ball or higher. His best season with the bat came in 1945 with the Sacramento Solons of the Pacific Coast League, when he appeared in 134 games and hit .246 in 491 at-bats. In his minor league career, he appeared in 764 games and hit at a .230 average.

Schlueter was in the major leagues in three seasons. He appeared in 35 games for the Chicago White Sox in 1938 and in 34 games in 1939. Norm spent 49 games with the Cleveland Indians in 1944, closing out his major league time with 55 hits in 296 at-bats for a .186 career total.

Schlueter left pro baseball after the 1948 season at the age of 31.
