Biographical Information[edit]

Nick Picciuto played for Michigan State College in 1942. He debuted as a pro baseball player with the 1944 Utica Blue Sox, hitting .266/~.358/.386 and leading the Eastern League by getting hit by 10 pitches. In 1945 with the Minneapolis Millers, he hit .262 with 8 homers.

The Philadelphia Phillies gave him 36 games in the major leagues in 1945, mostly at third base, in the talent-depleted World War II season. In 1946, back with Utica of the Eastern League, he tied for the lead in home runs (12) and hit .288/~.372/.440. He completed his career in 1947 by batting .278 for the Hartford Chiefs and .182 in scant time for the Tulsa Drillers.
