Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Nick Green was drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 35th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Chris McAlpin and made his pro debut that summer. He played in the Angels organization from 2004 to 2008, reaching AAA with the Salt Lake Bees in 2008. In 2009 and 2010, he was in the Milwaukee Brewers' organization, but he struggled with injuries and was released. Nick completed his career by pitching in the independent leagues from 2011 to 2014, including a pair of successful seasons with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League in 2011 and 2012. He never made the major leagues, however.

Green became a coach with the GCL Red Sox in 2017 and pitching coach for the Lowell Spinners in 2018-2019. Green was scheduled to return to Lowell in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic led to the season's cancellation. Green was pitching coach of the Salem Red Sox in 2021-2022.

The Detroit Tigers hired Green to coach pitchers for the Lakeland Flying Tigers in 2023-2024.
