Biographical Information[edit]

Nick Esasky was signed as a 1st-round pick in the 1978 amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds and scout George Zuraw.

He had a career-high 30 home runs & 108 RBI for the Boston Red Sox in 1989; he hit his first American League home run on April 10th that season. He then cashed in by signing a multi-million dollar free-agent contract with the Atlanta Braves in 1990. However, he suffered from vertigo shortly after and played in only 9 games for the Braves with no RBI and was forced to retire.
