Biographical Information[edit]

Although born in the Dominican Republic, OF Narciso Crook grew up in New Jersey and was drafted in the 23rd round of the 2013 amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds. It took him a while to reach the majors, and by the time he did so on June 30, 2022, he was playing for the Chicago Cubs against the Reds after having been signed as a minor league free agent the previous off-season. In his first game, he pinch hit for RF Rafael Ortega in the 5th, grounding into a double play, but stayed in the game and collected hits in his next two at-bats, including a double off Ross Detwiler. He scored and drove in a run in a 15-7 Cubs win.
