Biographical Information[edit]
Nam-ho Yoo represented South Korea in the 1976 Amateur World Series, 1977 Intercontinental Cup and 1978 Amateur World Series (striking out five in two shutout innings, allowing three hits; he was easily the least-used of their five hurlers as all the others worked at least 9 IP, two of them over 30). When the KBO was founded in 1982, the OB Bears named him their first pitching coach. Yoo coached the Bears until 1984, and he became the pitching coach of the Chungbo Pintos from 1986 to 1988. Yoo then became the bench coach of the Haitai Tigers from 1990 to 2000, and he was the bench coach of the Samsung Lions from 2001 to 2003. Yoo managed the minors team of the KIA Tigers in 2004, and he was named their big club manager on July 27. Yoo left the Tigers on July 25, 2005.
