Biographical Information[edit]

Myung-sung Kim made his debut in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2011.

Kim won a Bronze Medal with the South Korean national team in the 2009 Asian Championship. He was the lone amateur on Korea's entry in the 2010 Asian Games, joining major leaguer Shin-soo Choo and a team of KBO stars. Kim made one appearance, starting a 17-0 win over Pakistan. South Korea won the Gold Medal, winning its players exemption from the country's mandatory military service. Kim was the 5th pick of the 2010 KBO draft, taken by the Lotte Giants.

Kim made his KBO debut on May 8, 2011, allowing two hits in a scoreless inning against the Doosan Bears. Through August 25, he had made four appearances for Lotte, allowing 14 hits and 8 runs in 7 2/3 IP.
