Modesto Pérez (Panama)
Modesto Pérez
Modesto Pérez was the first catcher for the Panamanian national team. In their opening game of the 1930 Central American Games, he was 2 for 5 with a double, three runs and two RBI in a rout of San Salvador. He hit .333 for the event, splitting catching with Félix Heráldez, but fielded .882. It was not the lowest mark for a catcher in the Games as Gabriel Murphy and Joaquín Aguilar were lower. Panama won the Bronze.
