Biographical Information[edit]
Mitch Mormann pitched in the independent leagues in 2012 and 2013. He was 0-0, 6.48 in 16 games, all but one in relief, split between the Normal CornBelters of the Frontier League and the Abilene Prairie Dogs of the North American League in 2012. In 2013, he went 4-6, 3.63 with 2 saves in 34 games for Normal, pitching strictly in relief.
He was drafted three times by major league teams: in the 17th round in 2008, by the Cleveland Indians and in the 20th round in 2009 by the San Francisco Giants, both times out of Des Moines Area Community College, and one last time in the 25th round in 2011, by the Detroit Tigers out of Wichita State University.
