Biographical Information

Mingqiang Ye pitched for the Chinese national team and in the China Baseball League.

In the 1998 Baseball World Cup, he tied Zhanpeng Wang for China's best ERA (1.04). He allowed four hits in 8 2/3 IP, fanning nine and walking none. He threw three perfect innings in relief of Wang to save Wang's win over South Africa. It was China's first save in a Baseball World Cup. He was with China for the 1998 Asian Games. He allowed four hits and three runs (all earned) in one inning in the 2002 World University Championship as China's least-effective hurler.

He was with China for the 2002 Asian Games and 2003 Asian Championship. He was 0-2 with a 12.27 ERA in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, losing to Takayuki Goto of Japan and Rafael Medina of Panama. He played for the Shanghai Golden Eagles in the China Baseball League and later coached for them. He coached for China in the 2010 World University Championship.
