Biographical Information[edit]
Delvis Candelario pitched for the Dominican national team in 2001-2002. He was 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, striking out 20 in 16 innings. He led the Dominican Republic in IP (4 2/3 ahead of Wilson Sido) and strikeouts (9 more than Sido). He tied Hei-chun Lee for 5th in the event in whiffs, 6 behind Chih-Chia Chang. He was also 1-1 in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup though his ERA rose to 6.75. He next appeared in the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games, taking a Bronze Medal.
