Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Milton Schroeppel played in the minor leagues from 1941 to 1942 and from 1946 to 1949. Perhaps his best campaign was 1947, split between the Wichita Falls Spudders (95 games) and Springfield Browns (32 games). Between them, he slashed .329/.397/.512 with 17 home runs, 84 RBI, 33 doubles and 21 stolen bases in 127 games, making 1947 the only season he hit better than .300. Following the campaign he was taken by the Cincinnati Reds-affiliated Tulsa Oilers in the Double-A round of the 1947 Rule V Draft. He had a 30-double, 14-homer season in 1948.

He served in the United States Naval Air Corps from February 1943 to January 1946.

He died March 14, 2023 at 102 years old.
