Mike Yastrzemski shares the record for games played at Florida State University with 279. He is tied with Barry Blackwell.
He played in the minor leagues from 1984 to 1988 advancing as high as AAA (in 1986-1988). He was named the Most Spectacular Player at the 1980 Haarlem Baseball Week.
He is the son of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski. His son, also named Mike Yastrzemski reached the major leagues in 2019.
He died on September 15, 2004, from complications following hip surgery. He was 43 years old.
