Biographical Information

Mike Walker has been a minor league player.

Walker hit .512 as a high school senior. As a college freshman, he batted .246/.319/.357. He followed with a .293/.377/.415 campaign as a sophomore, then was a strong third baseman for Pacific, with 41 runs in 52 games. He was second-team All-Big West Conference. Returning for his senior season in 2010, he hit .327/.390/.552 with 49 runs and 52 RBI in 54 games. He was 6th in the Big West in RBI and his 135 career RBI were 9 shy of the Pacific record set by Chip Sell.

The Milwaukee Brewers chose Walker in the 14th round of the 2010 amateur draft; Justin McCray was the scout. Mike hit .277/.413/.434 that summer for the Helena Brewers, alternating between DH, 3B (.847 FLD in 26 G) and 1B (.985 FLD in 21 G). He led the Pioneer League in walks (60, 15 more than anyone else) and games played (74), while finishing second in strikeouts (78) and 6th in OBP (between Rafael Ortega and Corey Dickerson).

With the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in 2011, the Californian hit .274/.387/.455 with 15 homers, 60 walks and 72 RBI. He made the Midwest League All-Star Game but missed a month late in the year with a fractured left index finger. He still finished 5th in the Brewers chain in both RBI and walks and was 9th in the Midwest League in walks.

In 2012, Mike batted .280/.361/.415 with 75 RBI for the Brevard County Manatees, while fielding .920 at the hot corner. He was fifth in the Florida State League in RBI. He was named the FSL's All-Star third baseman. He then joined the Australian national team for the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
