Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Mickey Sinnerud played in the minor leagues from 1959 to 1969 and in 1971. He reached Triple-A in all or part of four seasons, but never made the major leagues.
He began his career in the Milwaukee Braves system at 18 years old and by 1962, was with the Triple-A Louisville Colonels. With them, he slashed .167/.222/.286 in 15 games. He played for two lower-level clubs that year, as well, hitting .263/.298/.364 in 91 games on the whole. Partway through 1963, he joined the Los Angeles Angels system, then he played in the Washington Senators chain for most of 1964. He rejoined the Braves organization for a single game that season, remaining with the club until September 11, 1965, when he was sent to the Houston Astros as the player to be named later in a deal for Frank Thomas. The Astros retained him until December 18, 1968, when he was shipped with catcher Buck Martinez and fellow minor leaguer Tommy Smith to the Kansas City Royals for minor league catcher Johnny Jones, the #5 overall pick in 1967. He played just 52 games in the Royals system to wrap up his career.
Overall, Sinnerud hit .255/.314/.361 with 1,192 hits, 71 home runs and 522 RBI in 1,285 games over 12 seasons. He eclipsed 10 home runs twice, in 1963 and 1967.
