Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Schwartz made his pro debut in 2010.

Schwartz hit .583 as a high school senior, a school record. He batted .433 as a junior college freshman, best in the state. As a sophomore, he was All-State and hit .403. As a college junior, he batted .368/.477/.633 with a team-high 58 RBI in 55 games. He was named second-team All-Sunshine State Conference. His senior year, he improved to .415/.596/.716 and set the school record with 75 walks. He was named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year. He scored 78 runs in 57 games.

The Chicago White Sox took Schwartz in the 17th round of the 2010 amateur draft. The scout was Joe Siers. He batted .241/.414/.339 with 33 walks in 38 games in his pro debut for the Bristol Sox, leading all Pale Hose minor leaguers in OBP. He was 5th in the Appalachian League in walks. The first baseman slumped in 2011, hitting .195/.293/.264 in 24 games for Bristol and .217/.438/.435 in 9 games for the Great Falls Voyagers.
