Biographical information[edit]
Mike Rebhan was a pitcher who is most notable for winning the 1990 College World Series Most Outstanding Player award while a senior at University of Georgia. He is the only player from University of Georgia to win that award.
Rebhan had gone 13-5 with a 3.01 ERA as a senior. In the College World Series, he twice beat Mike Mussina, a first-round pick that year who would go on to an excellent major league career. Mike went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA in the Series and held Stanford University to one run in the finale. Rebhan said "I was sorry my wife wasn't here for the first game. You always want to share special moments. I was just glad she was here to see my pitch my last collegiate ballgame."
Although he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 32nd round of the 1988 amateur draft, he never played professionally. Following his playing career, he became a computer programmer.
