Mike Musgrave pitched as high as AAA.

He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 7th round of the 2002 Amateur Draft as a draft-and-follow. After signing, he debuted with the 2003 Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, going 1-2 with a 3.51 ERA and one save as a swingman. He was only 2-5 with a 5.79 ERA for the 2004 Hagerstown Suns. In '05, he had a 3-3, 4.93 record for the Augusta GreenJackets. He had a 5.63 ERA in nine outings for the 2006 Connecticut Defenders.

In 2007, the 23-year-old was 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA on a rehab assignment with the AZL Giants then finished up the year with Augusta, going 0-1 with a save and a 3.86 ERA. He went 2-1 with two saves and a 3.17 ERA as a reliable reliever for the 2008 San Jose Giants.

Musgrave split 2009 between San Jose (20 H, 13 BB, 18 R in 10 1/3), Connecticut (3-0, 5.76, 23 BB in 29 2/3 IP) and the Fresno Grizzlies (1 R in 3 IP). Overall, he had gone 13-12 with four saves and a 4.95 ERA in 172 minor league games.

He landed with the Rouen Huskies in France in 2010. He had to decide quickly if he wanted to play in France, as the Huskies had to finalize their roster for the 2010 European Cup by June 1st. Mike was still undecided on the Thursday of that week, but his plane landed in Paris on Friday and he was in a Huskies uniform on Sunday. One of his new teammates in Rouen was Aaron Hornostaj, a teammate in the Giants chain.
